Habitat for Humanity is an organization that aims to build affordable houses for low-income families.

I participate in one of the construction project in Portland. There were almost 200 volunteers working in different parts of work on site at the same time. I was assigned to move dirt with shovel from a dirt yard to the garden between houses. The purpose is to build a community garden for the families to grow their food. It was a nice experience for me to get myself dirty and to really experience to build a garden with my hands. The collaboration of the project has been discussing in my capstone class. One person’s effort seems so little. However, if we collaboration the efforts from everyone to change the world to be more sustainable, it can be possible to make our world to become a better world.
